No matter which part of the world you're in, what you do for a living or what your routine looks like; unwinding after a long day always involves a relaxing bath. Scented candles lining the bathroom, essential oils infusing the water and fizzy bath bombs can turn any day around completely. Throw in a good book and instrumental music and you can make a whole activity of it. Besides being extremely relaxing and lulling for the senses, did you know that baths can also have health benefits?
It's true! Taking a bath can actually be good for your heart. A new study has shown that along with acting as one of the most relaxing ways to unwind after a tiring day, having a bath could also lower the risk of stroke and heart disease.

According to findings in the Heart journal, a hot bath daily is associated with 28% lower risk of heart disease and 26% lower risk of stroke. Based on what researchers say, the reason why this happens is because baths are associated with lowering your blood pressure. This study included 61,000 Japanese adults whose bathing habits and cardiovascular disease risks were tracked for 20 years. They also found that those who took fewer baths were less likely to engage in other healthy behaviours that reduce heart disease risks.
