Neha Dhupia lost a considerable amount of weight in a year's time post her pregnancy

Neha Dhupia, who will next be seen on the silver screen in the upcoming Dharma Productions movie Bad Newz, looked trimmer than usual at the trailer launch event of the movie. It was also recently that the mother-of-two spoke about how she shed the weight she had put on during both her pregnancies that spanned the past four years. According to her interview with HT City, the actress lost 23 kilograms of post maternity weight in the past year. She mentioned that, both her children Mehr Dhupia Bedi and Guriq Dhupia Bedi, were breastfed for a year each after they were born. At that time, her focus was not on losing weight but on breast-feeding her kids during their nascent years, which led to her increase in appetite.

Neha Dhupia's staggering weight loss has made quite a few heads turn. The 43-year-old actress who put on 23 to 25 kilograms of weight during her pregnancies, first lost the weight after having her daughter Mehr as it was the lockdown era and she could manage to maximise on her workouts and run on a calorie deficit. But soon after she got pregnant again with her son Guriq, she gained it all over again. "It was a crazy span of four years, where I lost and put on weight time and again. Having said that, when I was pregnant, I wasn't worried about how I was going to look during postpartum", she said in the interview.

But how did she lose weight in a matter of just twelve months? Neha told HT City that she followed a regime of monitored eating habits and a balanced exercise routine. The actress said that she doesn't go on drastic calorie deficits because it isn't feasible for her as a working mom who needs energy. But she did enjoy running and occasionally hitting the gym.

On the diet front, Neha mentioned that she maintains a balanced diet and only cuts down on sugar, fried food and gluten from her daily intake. She further adds how it is a deliberate move on her part to not practice intermittent fasting because of the lifestyle she follows. The actress said that what worked wonders for her is having an early dinner at 7pm with her kids and a wholesome breakfast with her husband at 11am.

Neha Dhupia's post pregnancy weight loss journey is inspiring, especially those who find themselves struggling with their own weight postpartum.
