If a short trip is on your agenda, then what is stopping you from visiting the popular Ahmedabad Flower Show? Organised annually by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), the event is the perfect getaway for nature lovers and those who love gardening. An amazing display of flowers; of both seasonal and exotic species, will add a colourful twist to your holiday. So, without further ado, let's take a detailed look at the Flower Show.

All You Need To Know

The Ahmedabad Flower Show first started in 2013. This unique attraction, held at Sabarmati Riverfront, aims to make people aware of horticulture practices, and how to conduct rooftop gardening and kitchen gardening among other skills. Featured in the event are a variety of saplings, bonsai, cacti, vegetable plants and flower species such as Dutch rose, cumbidium orchid, gerbera, anthurium and hydrangea. Animal replicas made from flowers and plants serve a unique touch. Visitors can also purchase fertilisers, gardening tools and flower plants as well. Painting competitions are also organised for children. 

How To Visit

By Air: The nearest airport to the Flower Show is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. It is located approximately 12 km from the venue.

By Rail: Kalupur Railway Station, situated 5 km away from the show is the most convenient if you are travelling via rail. 

By Road: The place is well-connected by public and private buses and cabs.

Things To Remember

Date and Timings: The Flower Show started on January 3, 2025 and will continue till January 22, 2025. The timings for general tickets is between 9 am to 8 pm. Premium ticket timings have two slots: 8 am to 9 pm and 10 pm to 11 pm. 

Ticket Price: For adults, the price is Rs 70 from Monday to Friday. For the weekend, the price is Rs 100. Above 12, the price is Rs 10. Premium tickets are priced at Rs 500 for the Flower Show. Those wishing to add a visit to the Atal Bridge will have to pay Rs 550. 

General Instruction: Entry to the Flower Show is permitted from the west side of the Riverfront for visitors holding valid tickets. Entry is free for AMC pupils under 12 years. 

Clothing: Make sure to wear comfortable clothing and footwear since you have to walk outdoors to enjoy the floral arrangement. 

Carry Essentials: Although there are food joints inside the venue, do not forget to carry your personal essentials like a water bottle, medicines, toiletries and light snacks.
