The BAFTA Film Awards has just announced the list of its presenters for the 2024 ceremony and we can't keep calm. Everyone's favourite Deepika Padukone is among the few confirmed celebrities including Dua Lipa and David Beckham, who will be presenting at the awards ceremony. After presenting at the prestigious Oscars last year, Deepika continues her streak of global domination with her presence at the upcoming British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards. While we wait for the actress to send the fashion police into a frenzy with her red-carpet appearance, let's reminisce about Deepika's Oscars look that is living rent-free in our heads. Bringing back the old-world Hollywood charm, Deepika looked ethereal in a classic black Louis Vuitton off-shoulder gown for the big event. The velvet number came in a clean silhouette that accentuated Deepika's curves. A plunging sweetheart neckline flew down to form a corset bodice that extended downwards into a lavishly structured A-line voluminous hem.

Giving it an old-world touch, the actress teamed her gown with matching velvet gloves. A drop yellow diamond necklace, stacked diamond bangles and rings over her gloves, from the shelves of luxury jewellery house Cartier added an element of bling to her look. Even her winged cat-eye liner, paired with a low mid-parted bun screamed classic Hollywood aesthetic. With a flawless base, nude lips and a neutral eyeshadow colour scheme, Deepika was a sight to behold.
Of course, Deepika Padukone isn't the first Indian celebrity who turned a presenter at an International award event. Way back in 2016, “Bollywood's Desi Girl” Priyanka Chopra marked her Oscars debut. Priyanka was the cynosure of all eyes as she strutted the red carpet in a strapless all-white number. The see-through number featured a plunging sweetheart neckline that formed a corset bodice. It was adorned with a metal detailing on her midriff region. The figure-hugging silhouette formed a flowy hem with an elegant trail. The gorgeous piece featured an overall floral embroidery. Priyanka kept it minimal by ditching most of the accessories and only resting her faith in a pair of diamond drop earrings. Middle parted low ponytail brought attention to her flawless glam including bold red lips.
Back in 2009, “Badshah of Bollywood” Shah Rukh Khan presented the prestigious Golden Globe Awards to Slumdog Millionaire. For the big night, King Khan picked a classic black pantsuit. The superstar looked smart as he styled the blazer in a button-up look. He teamed it with a formal white shirt, which he carried in a button-down look, giving a sneak peek at his sequin-adorned tie on the neck. He sealed it all with a pair of pointy black formal shoes.
Late actress Persis Khambatta was the first Indian to be invited to present an award at the Oscars, way back in 1980.
