1. King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan
After a whirlwind romance of just a few months, King Abdullah and Queen Rania wedded in 1993 with the beautiful Rania wearing a gold embroidered wedding gown. They've now been blissfully wedded for more than 22 years and share a beautiful family with four children. While the king manages his constituencies of Jordan, the queen is heavily into social work and philanthropy.
2. Prince Charles And Princess Diana Of Wales
is possibly the most famous royal wedding the world has ever known. Prince Charles' wedded Princess Diana of Wales, who wore a taffeta gown with antique lace, in 1981 at St. Paul's Cathedral. While the couple looked joyful, their marriage was mired in controversy until their divorce in 1996 and even after Princess Diana's death the next year in a car crash.
3. Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja And Trishika Kumari Singh Of Mysore
Last summer, the Amba Vilas Palace in Mysore was witness to one of the grandest weddings in the history of India's former royalty. The titular Maharaja of Mysore Yaduveer, grandson of Gayatri Devi, married Trishika, who herself comes from Rajasthan's royal family. The wedding was celebrated in the palace after 4 decades as saw the attendance of many politicians, diplomats and renowned guests.
4. Crown Prince Fredrik And Crown Princess Mary Of Denmark
Now here's a royal love story that's also fit to be made into a Disney movie. Prince Fredrik first met Mary Elizabeth when visiting Sydney for the 2000 Olympics. This almost surreal meeting between a prince and a commoner blossomed into a long-distance relationship which culminated in marriage in 2004 and they lived happily ever after.
5. Prince Rainier III And Princess Grace Kelly Of Monaco
In 1956, Prince Rainier III married the beautiful Grace Kelly, whose award-winning career was at an all time high. At 26, she left acting to serve her royal duties and had three children with the prince. They were happily in love until her death in 1982 after which, Prince Rainier refused to remarry till his passing in 2005.
