As is the case with any wedding related to Bollywood, Saudamini Mattu's wedding in Mumbai over the weekend was one full of glitz, glam and, obviously, stars galore. The CEO of the legendary design house, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla (Saudamini is also Sandeep Khosla's niece), married fiance Siddharth Bhandari and followed it up with a reception, held on Saturday in Mumbai, which was a rather grand affair. So grand that it included a singularly rare event - Shweta Bachchan Nanda, the unfilmiest of film fraternity kids, performed a solo dance to Pallo Latke. But that's another story.
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla seemed to very much be at the forefront of the receptions, walking most guests in and out. With a guest list that included not just Shweta and her mother Jaya Bachchan but also her sister-in-law Aishwarya, Abu-Sandeep aficionados like Twinkle Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, the Kapoors and young actors like Sara Ali Khan, it was an evening that was truly one of fashion's finest.
Unsurprisingly, most guests showed up in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla ensembles. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the exception proving the rule.
Here's a round-up of what everyone wore but first, a picture of the newlywed couple.

Right up there on the fashion list, of course, was Sonam Kapoor in her monochrome thread work lehenga. Sonam paired her outfit with traditional earrings and a maang tika.

Twentysomething Sara Ali Khan, whose mother Amrita Singh is a dedicated Abu-Sandeep client, was all grown up and glam in her ivory and mirror-work saree and blouse. Sara carried a silver disco ball bag and wore simple dangling earrings with her saree.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was one of the few A-listers not to have worn Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Nonetheless, Aishwarya looked resplendent in her multicoloured gown-style Rohit Bal anarkali. Her choice of red lips definitely added even more charm to her look.

Shweta Bachchan kept it simple in her plain white saree and blouse. She added some colour to her look by wearing a chunky green beaded necklace.

Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan were hard to miss in their green and yellow outfits respectively. While Amitabh Bachchan wore a green kurta with gold embroidery around the neck, Jaya Bachchan wore a yellow saree edged with mirror work.

Twinkle Khanna was one of the other celebrities who chose to keep it rather simple. Twinkle wore a cream sharara set with gold and lavender borders. Even her accessories and makeup were kept minimal.

Twinkle Khanna's mother, Dimple Kapadia, wore an outfit that truly was a melange of colours. Her long yellow-mustard kurta was layered with a multi-coloured thread-work jacket on top and a mehendi green silk-finish skirt underneath.

Neetu Singh was a vision in a pista green gota-work kurta and sharara set. She was the epitome of grace in her simple yet stunning ensemble.

Bhumi Pednekar shone bright in her turquoise-blue mirror work lehenga. Bhumi's lehenga featured an off-shoulder blouse and a fully embroidered dupatta.

Sonali Bendre and Tabu looked lovely as they posed with a friend in their chikankari suits. While Sonali Bendre's suit was yellow, Tabu went for an all white one.

Sonam Kapoor's sister, Rhea Kapoor, made an appearance in an all-black ensemble. Rhea looked lovely in the flowing garment that only had embroidery around the neck.

Director and producer Karan Johar was also in attendance in an all-black ensemble. Karan's black achkan kurta and churidaar stood out thanks to the gold mirror work on the kurta.

Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla both looked cheery and happy as they posed in their white kurtas.
