The job of an actor is to get into the very skin of the character they are portraying. Especially when doing so for months at a stretch, becoming inspired by their character off the screen must almost feel like second nature to them. That was the case for Ana de Armas at the Venice Film Festival recently. The Hollywood star is playing Marilyn Monroe in the film Blonde which premiered at the event. After having completed her stint as the yesteryear legend, it seems that Ana continued to be inspired by her even when she walked on the red carpet.

For the appearance, Ana wore a frothy pink gown designed by Louis Vuitton. It featured a full-length hemline entirely made up of pleats with a tied detail at the waist. The top half of the dress saw a backless halter neckline with a plunging front until the torso. Ana's hair was swept to the side and styled in vintage-esque curls. Her makeup look was as radiant as they come with rosy cheeks and a neutral toned lip. Stud earrings accented her gorgeously crafted intricate diamond necklace.

Marilyn had starred in the 1955 film The Seven Year Itch and the moment in which her pleated white dress flew above the grate is the one that has become iconic ever since. Although Ana's dress was pastel hued in colour, the similarities between the pleats and the plunging necklines couldn't be ignored. Now we can't wait to see what Ana de Armas has in store for us as Marilyn Monroe on screen.
