Subtle chic and minimally magnificent may be your style statement for work or play through the year but what about for Diwali, the biggest Hindu festival of the year? That just won't do. Like the twinkling lights and sparklers, when it comes to festive fashion and traditional wear on Diwali, it better make a striking statement and subtle doesn't quite cut it. Ananya Panday, Kiara Advani and Pooja Hedge knew exactly what the festival of lights needed and took the unique Indian fashion route with a bright pop of colour.
While the rest of B-town showed up in shimmer and glimmer, these celebrities went down a different route. Swathed in tones of orange, sunshine yellow and fluorescent green, they gave the conventional neutral and glitter choices a miss in favour of brighter and bolder colours. As a chic coincidence, the Bollywood actresses also happened to opt for the celebrity favourite lehenga-choli ensemble. That's where the similarities ended. From there on, it was an amalgamation of mirror work, embroidery and glowing makeup, all on the backdrop on vibrant, popping tones.
