Sparkle, galactic theme and a beautiful celebration of fashion was what the concluding night at the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week was all about. The five-day fun-filled fashion extravaganza came to an end on Sunday, 28th March, 2022 with designers Falguni and Shane Peacock closing the Lakme Absolute Grand Finale as they unveiled their latest collection "Earthbound''.
The definition of fashion has changed drastically over the course of the past few years and after two years of a phygital edition of the FDCI X Lakme Fashion Week, this year we witnessed an in-person edition with designers bringing in their latest collections to the ramp.
Dripping glamour, drama and bold silhouettes are a statement in any of Falguni and Shane Peacock's collection and Earthbound was just as mesmerizing. The ramp was set on fire as models walked the ramp in stunning outfits. Actress Ananya Panday added her own bit of shine and glamour to the show as she turned showstopper for the designer duo in a beautiful mini dress doused with equal parts of pink and purple toned embellishments. We caught up with the actress on her showstopper experience and more.
1. Falguni and Shane Peacock's collection has a very futuristic approach to fashion, how does it resonate with your personal style?
Ananya Panday: I feel all their pieces are really unique, they have a very strong futuristic structure as they play along with colour and these are all the things that I try to inculcate in my own personal style.
2. How does it feel to walk for the Lakme Absolute Finale second year in a row as you return to the ramp?
Ananya Panday: It is the most exciting time of the year and I can't believe that we are here in person for one of our proper first physical fashion shows and nothing can replace the energy of being on the ramp. I hope to carry it forward for many more years to come.
3. What is that one post-pandemic trend that you are hooked onto?
Ananya Panday: Playing along with the eyes when it comes to makeup is something that I have been absolutely loving recently.
4. Tell us something about your outfit of the day?
Ananya Panday: My outfit of the day is all about beautiful structure, bold, out there, stunning and exploring more.
5. One fashion style that you would want to experiment with which you haven't tried?
Ananya Panday: I want to do a really dramatic and huge Cinderella moment. This is something that I haven't really tried yet.
6. What is your backstage energy like before a show starts?
Ananya Panday: I am usually very nervous before any show, so that is my backstage energy.
