Ananya Panday On The Magic Of Accessories And What She Doesn't Leave Home Without

Bollywood may be filled with young fashionistas at every corner but Ananya Panday has always managed to stand out. Though only a handful of films old in the industry, her fashion statements have been winning gold stars from day one. With refreshing looks and whimsical choices up her very stylish sleeves, Ms. Panday's sartorial sense never fails to make an impact. Her recent milestone is the FastrackXAnanya Panday Ruffles collection, an accessories range of watches and bags designed by the actress herself. As it launches, NDTV Swirlster spoke to Ananya Panday on bringing this collaboration to life and the fashion accessories she never leaves home without.

Swirlster: How important would you say accessories are when picking out an outfit?

Ananya Panday: They are extremely versatile and lift a look greatly. Accessories add so much of character and definition to an outfit.

Swirlster: What are the style tips you've picked up from your job as an actress?

Ananya Panday: Never say never! I think you should always try an outfit on yourself before rejecting it because you never know what could work for you. You'll never know unless you don't try it out!

Swirlster: How did the Fastrack Ruffles collection reflect your personality?

Ananya Panday: The collection is perfect for the girls who revel in the spotlight and don't care how many feathers they ruffle. That's where this perfectly ties back with my personality!

Swirlster: Is it important to you that fashion be enjoyed by everybody?

Ananya Panday: I think fashion is super personal. As long as you are happy, you enjoy what you're wearing and you're comfortable, it's all that matters.

Swirlster: Which are the fashion must-haves you don't leave the house without?

Ananya Panday: It has got to be my bag, watch, sunglasses and perfume.

Swirlster: What was the process of designing the FastrackXAnanya Panday Ruffles collection like?

Ananya Panday: It was a lot of fun jamming with the design team and figuring what are the new and popular trends that we could take inspiration from. We looked at the type of material, color, design that would be a hit with the youth. This collection is inspired by pleats and folds in pastel shades, which is a rising fashion trend. It's a trend that I use a lot too in my style these days. There's a certain kind of glamour, elegance and sophistication associated with it.

Swirlster: What is a fashion milestone you'd love to have happen to you?

Ananya Panday: This collaboration is the first step into my fashion journey. It was my first collaboration and it totally was pure joy creating something so unique, fun and exciting.

Swirlster: Who do you look up to as fashion icons?

Ananya Panday: I love Zendaya, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Gigi Hadid, Rihanna, Blake Lively and Emma Roberts.

Swirlster: What's a celebrity fashion secret no one knows about?

Ananya Panday: (laughs) We all would probably walk down a red carpet in sweat pants if we could.
