Ranveer Singh's mother and Deepika Padukone's mother-in-law Anju Bhavnani's "gesture of love and hope" as her granddaughter Dua Padukone Singh turned 3 months old was truly heart warming. Anju's new haircut sure gave her a 'new hair-new me' moment, but the donation of her hair shows how Dua's grandmother prioritises the wellbeing of her granddaughter over her vanity. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone welcomed their first child, Dua Padukone Singh after the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 8, 2024.

To "celebrate the joy and beauty of Dua growing up", Anju Bhavnani kept "the power of goodness and kindness" alive by donating four braids of her thick and luscious hair. She is always caught on camera by the paparazzi sporting her long tresses, but this time around she showed off her new chopped-off shoulder-length hair look that suited her equally well. Post the cut, Anju Bhavnani's hair was styled into a blow-out with a side-parted look on the crown and slightly curled texture at the ends that were left open behind.
The mother of two and now grandma of one shared a couple of pictures on Instagram Stories that are sure to bring a smile on one's face. The first picture showed her posing for a picture with not one or two, but four whole braids of her hair in her hands, while smiling away. The next picture showed her sitting in a salon chair and looking at herself in the mirror after getting a fresh hair trim. Yet another picture showed how she measured her four braids with a one-feet long scale that signified how much hair she donated with a happy heart for baby Dua. Last but not the least, she posted a caption stating "marking this special day with a gesture of love and hope.....Hoping that this small act of kindness bring comfort and confidence to someone going through a difficult time."
The simple yet poignant act of donating her long hair, which is a symbol of vanity for an Indian woman, shows how Anju Bhavnani was willing to forsake her vanity for the health and joyful growing up of her granddaughter, Dua Padukone Singh. Top this with the fact that she meant for the donated hair to hopefully bring a smile onto the faces of people who might be suffering from hair loss due to multiple reasons such as old age or cancer.
Ranveer Singh's mother Anju Bhavnani's "gesture of love and hope" for Dua Padukone Singh is the most wholesome thing on the internet today.
