Little over a month ago, Bridgerton fever struck over the course of the holiday season and went on to become a full-blown phenomenon. Whether you've watched the Netflix show or not, interest has peaked in the TV series and we're not solely saying that of the Duke of Hastings, Simon Bassett. Online searches have catapulted for corsets and feathered headbands and the beauty sphere isn't one to be left behind either.
Hot on the heels of Bridgerton, regencycore is the latest beauty trend in town and is a fitting ode to spring 2021. So what is it exactly? Regencycore is inspired by Great Britain's Georgian era in the 1800s. It was marked by regal fashion choices which include shimmering headpieces, pearl baubles, corseted dresses and voluminous silhouettes. In terms of beauty, the era saw outlandishly large hairstyles accented with curls, gorgeously glowing skin and bright eyes. It's amazing how Bridgerton has influenced the world enough to want to go back and steal style from a few centuries ago.

Regencycore beauty icons from the period drama definitely include (but aren't confined to) Lady Danbury, Marina Thompson and Daphne Bridgerton, a stand out star from the show. Its rise in popularity also comes in time for spring 2021 and aptly so, as the rosiness and brightness lends itself beautifully.
So if you've been struck by Regencycore and long to try a beauty look like Daphne Bridgerton, start with a highlighting primer. Opt for a light to medium coverage base to lend a sheer layer without caking the skin. Use concealer over blemishes if needed. For the eyes, use iridescent shimmer eyeshadow, an eyelash curler and curling mascara. For the cheeks, stick to pink and peach tones with liquid and cream blush adding natural hints of colour. The lips should be finished off with a natural tint and a touch of gloss.
