Not just anybody can create history but Martha Stewart is far from anybody. Breaking barriers at 81, she is Sports Illustrated's oldest cover model in their latest edition. Martha posed for the magazine's annual swimsuit spread and broke a record with her latest appearance as the cover girl. She surpassed Maye Musk, who was 74 when she posed for the cover in 2022. The photoshoot celebrates powerful women as the chosen cover girls inspire readers to evolve and be fearless. For the 2023 issue, Stewart is joined by Megan Fox, Brooks Nader and Kim Petras. Kim is also the second trans woman to appear on the iconic cover.
The celebrity personality took to her Instagram to share the thrilling news. She posted the photoshoot and wrote an inspiring caption. In part, it read, "I am so thrilled to be on the cover of the @SI_Swimsuit issue! My motto has always been: "when you're through changing, you're through," so I thought, why not be up for this opportunity of a lifetime? I hope this cover inspires you to challenge yourself to try new things, no matter what stage of life you are in."
Stewart rose to fame as she started writing cookbooks after her success as a chef. She then appeared on television and once again, is inspiring us all with her latest cover shoot which truly proves that age is just a number. She also spoke about her motivation behind this in a video from the shoot, where she said, "This time, I was motivated by showing people that a woman my age can still look good, feel good, be good." She added, "And I don't think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic and that I better look really good."
