Casting was spot on when Margot Robbie was first announced to play Barbie in the eponymous movie. As movie promotions for Barbie begin, her doll-esque appearance is set to be taken off the screen too. For a recent movie event in Los Angeles, the Hollywood star looked every bit the part she was playing with her unique ensemble. Margot wore a custom-designed Valentino mini dress which featured a cross-front detail with a midriff cutout and a halter neckline. White polka dots over the bright pink base of the dress really added to the retro charm of the outfit. Margot carried a yellow sling bag with the dress and paired it with a pearl bracelet and white pointed pumps.

Margot's retro glam outfit wasn't just a good-looking one, though. It was thoughtfully referenced to the character she is playing in Barbie: The Movie. In 2015, Mattel released the Pink and Fabulous line which included a very 'pretty in pink' Barbie doll. The doll wore a sleeveless pink mini dress with polka dots. She also wore a yellow sling bag and bracelet along with white shoes. The attention to detail in Margot's outfit is admirable, especially since it's spilled off the movie set and onto her recent promotional looks.
