Beauty Review: We Tried The Tony Moly I'm Red Wine Mask Sheet

When it comes to giving your skin the much needed dose of hydration, what works great is of course a mask sheet. In recent times, mask sheets have become a rage and for good reasons. They are easy, convenient and not messy unlike regular face masks, making them a treat to use whenever we need those few minutes of pampering. So among the various options of mask sheets in the market, what caught our attention was the collection from Tony Moly - a popular Korean cosmetic brand - and we picked the I'm Red Wine Mask Sheet to try for ourselves.

First Look

Well, you can judge this mask by its cover. It's quirky with a fun and colourful graphic printed plastic packing that instantly makes you want to pick it up. A read through the label and it mentions that it is made for pore care, to help "purify the skin while tightening enlarged pores".

The mask sheet comes with red wine extracts, rosemary, jasmine and green tea extracts to purify the skin and tighten the pores. Moreover, it claims to contain no parabens, talc, benzophenone, triethanolamin or colour additives.

Swirlster's Review

First things first, we found that the mask sheet smelt great, which is essential to enhance one's skincare session. It felt like we were applying real red wine on the skin. Secondly, the sheet was well-shaped and comfortable on the skin. Now, there are many sheet masks that come with attractive ingredients but are shaped oddly or feel stiff, which then doesn't add to the whole experience. The I'm Red Wine Mask Sheet was soft with a great fit, which is probably due to the fact that it is made with a 3-layer durable cotton sheet that offers comfort and better penetration of the essence.

The solution was a clear, non-creamy essence that we thought was refreshing on the skin. After use, our skin felt moisturised and tightened. We also noticed that the mask pulled out toxins from the skin, living up to its claim of having purifying actions. But if you are looking for deep purification, then we would suggest to first exfoliate the skin and then sit back and relax with this soothing mask.
