Rarely do movies make an impact on the style world, unless of course, it's something absolutely spectacular to behold. Ponniyin Selvan has proved to be one of those exceptions to the rule. Mani Ratnam's magnus opus was a hit from the moment it released in 2022 and it was Aishwarya Rai and Trisha Krishnan's characters that had a lot to do with its impact on the fashion sphere. The first part released last monsoon and is followed by the second part, which is set to release this summer. Whetting our appetites for the movie and its promotions is Aishwarya, who took to Instagram to share a live action poster. She essays the roles of Queen Nandini and Mandakini Devi in the film, more of which we'll know when the PS-2 trailer releases on 29 March, 2023.

Before it does, however, we managed to catch a glimpse of Aishwarya in her Instagram post. Despite being only a few seconds long, she looked divine. She is clad in a bordered silk ensemble with a bright red bindi on her forehead. Her hair is styled in full waves and only touches of her luminescent complexion and pink lip are visible. The copious amounts of gold jewellery are the highlight of the shot. Aishwarya is seen wearing a gold maang tikka and earrings with multiple layers of neckpieces. It may not be much to but perhaps Aishwarya's gold-laden look is a sign of the opulent costumes to come in the trailer which we'll see today. We can only hope!
