If you are a Mumbaikar or have lived in the city for even a short span of time, you are well-acquainted with the famous 'vada pav' that the city offers. This local delicacy can be eaten at all times of the day, for breakfast, lunch, high tea or dinner. The simple preparation is made from potato and then fried in besan and served with lip-smacking red and green chutneys. Vada pav was earlier introduced as a meal for workers as it was economical and easy to assemble, but later became a popular dish amongst the masses. 7 Places In Mumbai To Get Steaming Hot Vada Pav
1. Ashok Vada Pav, Dadar
Just outside Kirti College, on a bustling street of Dadar is this stall that serves crispy, steaming vada pav, which is served crispy and with a host of spicy chutneys. They also give some extra choora with the vada pav for that extra kick.
2. Aaram Vada Pav, CST
This iconic vada pav stall is right opposite the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and has been filling the bellies of many for many decades now. Their garlic chutney is not to be missed even if you tried it. You also get to choose from many varieties of vada pav including grilled vada pav, cheese vada pav, mirchi vada pav and more to satiate your love for fusion food.

3. Parleshwar Vada Pav, Vile Parle
The specialty of this vada pav is that it has a tinge of coconut in the mixture which makes it different from all the other vada pav of the city. You get to choose from butter grilled vada pav, mayonnaise grill, schezwan grill and more. The stall has other preparations like kothimbir wadi, misal pav, samosas too, but vada pav is their specialty.
4. Shankar Vada Pav, Bandra
This vada pav stall started off as a cart and is now converted into a proper shop and is located near the Bandra Talao near Bandra railway station. The vada pav is popular amongst the college-going crowd and gets many customers on a daily basis.
5. Shree Krishna Batatawada
One of the places which does an amazing job in making great quality crunchy vada is Shree Krishna Batatawada outside Chhabildas Road in Dadar. They serve the vada with garlic chutney and sweet chutney, both of which complement this street-side snack.

6. Shivaji Vada Pav, Vile Parle
This vada pav stall is a hot favourite amongst the NM College and Mithibai College students. It is a family-run stall and is a couple of decades old. This vada pav stall makes some mouth-watering variants of vada pav including schezwan vada pav and cheese vada pav which are devoured by the students on a daily basis. The stall has included other snacks in their menus as well but vada pav is the star snack served here.
7. Mangesh Vada Pav, Borivali
This vada pav centre is opposite Gopal Krishna Hotel at Chinchpada in Borivali East. Their menu includes many street-style items but the vada pav with their signature meetha chutney prepared from dates, tamarind and chillies, offers the best of both worlds.
