Diwali 2021: Who wore their best desi self better?

Bollywood was lit up a tad bit extra for the occasion of Diwali this year. Many style moments were made that were soon saved in our wishlist folders for our next festive outing. But celebrity fashion sensibilities often overlap and this Diwali, many coincidences were bound to take place. We have never believed in the great minds think alike notion better than we did this Diwali where lehengas, sarees and every other ethnic outfit were on display with Bollywood celebs' very own personal touches given to it to make it their own. From Janhvi Kapoor's Manish Malhotra saree to Alia Bhatt's Sabyasachi lehenga, Bollywood's fashion face-off was a treat to sore eyes this Diwali and here were some of our favourites that we had a tough time choosing the best one.

Sarees are a Bollywood favourite and to nobody's surprise, Diwali 2021 saw witnessed many saree-torial moments. One such moment was spotted on Janhvi Kapoor and her cousin sister Shanaya Kapoor who were both seen in lightweight green Manish Malhotra sarees with metallic accents that seemed like the perfect start to the festivities.

Obviously one can't have enough of lehengas during this time of the year and Alia Bhatt and Sanjana Sanghi decided to go the same route but with their personal twists to it. Violet seems like the colour of the season where Alia Bhatt shined in Sabyasachi lehenga set with a tie around blouse and a similar blouse style also seen on Sanjana Sanghi with her violet Torani lehenga with printed floral motifs on it.

Blush pink lehengas don't seem to be going out of style and thankfully we've got Khushi Kapoor and Mouni Roy to give us their versions of styling their beauties right. Khushi Kapoor was a sassy diva in her Manish Malhotra off-shoulder chikankari lehenga which blended modern and traditional perfectly. Mouni on the other hand added pizzazz to the festival by lighting up the way in a mirrorwork lehenga in the same colour.

Soft florals are having a moment currently and it is proving to be quite the style statement even as winter slowly starts setting in. And proof that spring in Bollywood runs all through the year are Kajal Aggarwal and Genelia D'Souza in their delicate pastel floral sarees. Genelia in an Anavila saree or Kajal in a Picchika saree are spring day favourite even in the middle of fall.
