Remember the wonderful era of the late 90s? VH1 was a cultural phenomenon, the Backstreet Boys got us grooving to I Want It That Way and Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake were the It Couple. Britney had found fame with her bubblegum pop hits like Oops, I Did It Again while Justin was in the limelight with his boy band 'NSync. Together, Britney and Justin were pop music's golden couple during the late 90s and early 2000s.
It was during their three-year relationship that they also gave pop culture one of its most iconic fashion moments. At the 2001 American Music Awards, Justin and Britney stepped out arm-in-arm wearing matching all-denim ensembles. Britney wore a strapless denim patchwork gown with a diamond choker, belt and matching denim purse. Justin went step further and paired his denim patchwork suit with tinted sunglasses and a matching hat. If you go to think about it, back then pop hits may have been their strong suit but fashion may not have really been.

18 years later, Britney Spears is back and wearing top-to-toe denim again - thankfully, she's given the all-denim look a reinvention. JT and Brit broke up years ago but that hasn't stopped the pop princess from setting the record straight with a chic jean-on-jean outfit. This happened a few hours ago when designer Kenzo announced an association with Britney Spears as the face of the new range, Collection Momento 2. In the launch images for the campaign, Britney is wearing a trucker cap, a cutout bralette and matching bottoms under a patchwork jacket with high laced boots, all made from dark washed denim.

Going by her unforgettable jean look so many years ago, Britney's current ensemble to launch Kenzo's campaign is definitely skimpier and more reminiscent of Justin's choice of silhouette but without any of the garishness, which we're thanking our stars for. It's like a more fashionable wave of nostalgia all over again.
She's back, baby!
