The much-awaited Cannes Film Festival is here and it is time to celebrate the two Fs - films and fashion. Cannes also means that it is time for our annual fixation with what our home girls wear on the red carpet. This time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are walking at Cannes for L'Oreal whereas Kangana Ranaut represents liquor brand Grey Goose. While Kangana was at India Pavilion last night rocking retro-chic in a black starry Sabyasachi saree, Deepika is doing press today in a striped dress. But first, her casual morning outfit was released by her stylist Shaleena Nathani on Instagram today and the actress totally schooled us in how to ace the white tee-blue denims look.
And now that her second look is out and we can't help but notice how Deepika Padukone totally loves wearing stripes. Take a look.
In a Tome New York striped dress and red shoes by the same brand, Deepika looks like a candy store exploded on her - in the best way. The actress looks quite cute in the multicoloured dress and thank God she wore her hair down and wavy.
This reminds us of the time that Deepika Padukone wore candy cane stripes in the form of a Sabyasachi saree, which made us want to run off to a sweet store right then (and also crave for Christmas).
And she clearly has a thing for striped sarees.
As we see from today's Cannes look, Deepika's beauty is most compelling with simple makeup and minimal accessorising. Most of the time, it is the dress paired with Deepika's innate beauty that does all the work. And when Shaleena nails that is when fans seem to be the happiest.
But if we are honest, we do hope that Deepika's next few looks on the Cannes red carpet are so good that they break the Internet.
