Deepika Padukone's Cannes 2018 journey began yesterday. The dimpled beauty walked the red carpet last evening in a beautiful Zuhair Murad gown. Other than simply walking the red carpet at the film festival's red carpet, though, Deepika Padukone also has a host of press interactions to attend and interviews to give. Before she stepped onto the red carpet yesterday, we saw Deepika make several outfit changes for her interaction with the press. There's one in particular that stood out for us, though, that was her very first outfit of the day - jeans and a tee.
Yesterday morning, Deepika posed for a picture wearing a basic knotted white tee and a pair of blue jeans. A pair of oversized retro tinted glasses, gold hoops and nude heels completed her outfit. Her hair was left in bouncy waves and her makeup kept fresh and dewy. Way to pull off jeans and a tee, we thought. We were even making notes.
But trust Deepika Padukone to give us something ever better this morning. Deepika's first outfit of the day today was once again blue jeans and a white tee. But she looked even better in this ensemble than she did in her outfit from yesterday - if that's even possible. She seems to be working a retro charm for the festival this year and we are absolutely loving it.
The Cannes Film Festival might seem like a super high-flung event for films and fashion, but if there's anyone who could pull off something as basic and casual as jeans and a tee and make it look so stylish, it's Deepika Padukone. That's exactly why we're not surprised that she did it again today; started her day in a pair of jeans and a basic white tee. Much like her look from yesterday.
This isn't the first time Deepika has pulled off jeans and a tee with such panache. The Padmaavat star seems to be a pro at making this simple ensemble seem like a high fashion statement attire. Have a look at some of the times Deepika managed to stun in seemingly her favourite choice of clothes.
Only a few days ago Deepika was spotted at a Pre Met Gala party in New York. While the rest of the guests pulled out their fanciest outfits, Deepika turned up in, you guessed it right, jeans and a tee. Deepika wore a black tee with blue bell bottom jeans and added a black overcoat on top. Her outfit might have been basic, but Deepika sure did look fine.
Her airport look en route to NYC was also a pair of jeans with a tee. Deepika totally slayed in her Burberry tee and jacket teamed with a pair of flared blue jeans.
Let's not forget the time Deepika channeled a 90's vibe while twinning with her sister at the airport. Deepika and her sister, Anisha Padukone, were both spotted at the airport wearing white Levi's t-shirts with blue jeans and Nike sneakers.
Deepika looks fabulous in jeans and a tee, but we can't wait to see what she's going to wear for her second red carpet appearance at Cannes 2018. The anticipation is real.
