In years before this one, the middle of summer signaled the start of the world's most prestigious film festival that also put the best style statement's on display. While Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor have been India's Cannes queens through the years, Deepika Padukone joined the troop in 2017 when she represented L'Oreal.

In 2019, she wore an achromatic Peter Dundas gown with an oversized bow and large shoulders. Complementing it was a sleek high ponytail and winged under-liner.
Her most dramatic moment on the red carpet last year came from her frothy tulle lime green Giambattista Valli gown which she paired with a pink head scarf; a unique outfit completely out of Deepika's wheelhouse.
The year before that, she opted for a white and nude toned lace gown which showcased her curves with flowing cape sleeves.

2018's jaw-drop moment came when the actress walked onto the red carpet in a fuchsia Ashi Studio dress which had tiers of ruffles and exaggerated sleeves. She wore it with a top knot and pink pumps so brilliantly that later in the year, Beyonce wore the same designer number.
In 2017, she made a name for herself in a scintillating burgundy Marchesa gown with sequin embellishment, her hair worn in waves and dark lips.
For her second Cannes outing of the year, her deep green single-shouldered gown fascinated us all which she wore with winged eye makeup and a high bun.
Her day time look included a chic pastel halter-style dress with matching heels and hair in a high bun.
A casual chic look in 2019 saw her in a blue and white striped pantsuit with black sunglasses and orange pumps.
Looking molten golden with the Cannes waves as her backdrop, she wore a metallic gold gown with flowing locks and a banded neckline.
Another pantsuit moment came in 2018 when she stunned in a bright purple Mao pantsuit featuring flared trousers, deep neckline and hair worn straight at the back.
