For Falguni and Shane Peacock, less has never been more. One look at their body of work and you'll know that in an instant. With collections including resort wear, evening dressing, party lines and runway couture worn by the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Paris Hilton, dressing like a wallflower definitely isn't in their repertoire; which is what they've come to be best known for. Exaggerated sleeves, bold silhouettes, bright pops of colour, feather and mesh embellishment and of course, a whole lot of sparkle are what define the Falguni Shane Peacock label. And their new flagship store is a perfect extension of that.
Tucked in the lanes of Mumbai's Kala Ghoda, the double-storied space is nothing short of exquisite. A chandelier welcomes us in with mannequins draped in their designed garb watching over. With bouquets of fresh flowers, scented candles and monogrammed wallpaper, every nook is a talking point. Inside, a luxe dressing room accented with mauve ottomans and couture covering every corner will be any brides dream. Designed by Gauri Khan, who is known for designing the homes of Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez amongst many other Bollywood bigwigs, stepping inside is an experience in itself. Swirlster spoke to Falguni and Shane Peacock on the momentous occasion about their new store, bridal couture and the party season.

With more brands and designers making the digital shift from brick and mortar stores, their move was a conscious one. Says Falguni, "When it comes to couture over the world, digitization doesn't work all too well" and is accompanied by Shane, saying, "In India, the bride especially still likes to try outfits when getting married and receive their family and friends reactions, which you don't get on an online store." Of course, their sparkling new store is the apple of their eye. "For the past 9 months, working with Gauri Khan has been an exciting creative process and the longest association we've had," says Shane. "Creating something unique has been extremely fulfilling and satisfying," adds Falguni.
"Bridal Dressing Is About What You're Comfortable In"
When it comes to dressing for the wedding, Shane suggests, "One must experiment for their wedding. For the D-day, it's best to wear something that suits you, fits you and you're comfortable in rather than following any trends" and Falguni adds, "Bridal wear is never about trends. It's about what looks amazing on you and makes you feel amazing."

Party Dressing, Straight From The Pros
Renowned as party dressing specialists, here's how Falguni recommends going to a party straight from work - "Get out of your flats and into heels, add a glamourous jacket to your dress, change your makeup and you're ready to go!" A fashion trend that the designer duo predict will be all the rage this season goes to sparkle. They affirm, "Shine, shimmer and sequins are in this season and of course, the attitude you wear it with is most important." For those who are apprehensive about wearing sequins for fear of looking over the top, Falguni recommends, "As long as you keep a balance of your accessories, sequins don't have to be OTT. Don't wear sequins over your shoes or bags and pair with minimal makeup."
