It's been a year of ruffles, tiers, and fur. Feathers are making a comeback, along with layered lehengas. A lot of sparkle and bling can be seen this year, with sequins work and shimmer ensembles. Today's brides are going all out and flaunting their dream trousseau with grace and dignity. Pre-Wedding Occasions

There are various celebrations before the actual wedding ceremony. Going over the top, too common or repetitive is not an option. For the engagement ceremony, the bride can opt for stylish and vibrant outfits in red, golden beige, wine or fuchsia colours. Make sure your outfit is non-fussy as you would not like to trip on the dance floor on your own wedding.

On the other hand, there are a variety of colour options. Choose different hues like mauve, sea-green, turquoise or pastels which are great picks for this season. Complete the look with matching jewellery and makeup.

For Haldi ceremony, from pale pastels to bright mustard yellows are auspicious picks. Pick a plain yellow kurta, and pair with a dupatta in a contrasting colour. Apart from yellow tones, go for beiges, light pinks, off-whites with little specks of red, gold or pink.

For the Mehendi ceremony, pick different shades of green like emerald green or an elegant forest tint. Choose comfortable and lighter fabrics - with little or no extra fuss. Fabrics like organza and georgette are an ideal choice.

Print And Pattern

This season do not shy away from flaunting bold prints. From floral to stripes, bring in your favourite prints in contrasting colours to go with a vibrant celebration. Another trend which is gaining popularity in big fat Indian weddings is that the bridesmaids are usually dressed in sync. A great way to ace this is to get your friends and sisters to wear printed sarees and lehengas. Even if draped differently, they will surely stand out at your wedding.

Spring-Summer Shades

A lot of classic and monochromatic lehengas are making a comeback. There are a whole lot of colours like mint, peach and lighter pinks that brides are opting for. This season do not be afraid to go bold with bright colours and of course, red will always be the standard colour for a wedding outfit. A word of caution - make sure you choose an ensemble that has some scope of upcycling after your wedding.
