Experimenting isn't for everyone. This statement does and does not apply to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. We can explain. While one does see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan try and get on the experimental beauty trends bandwagon (read: her purple lips at Cannes), when it comes to her wardrobe, Aishwarya doesn't seem to want to steer too far away from her comfort zone. Perhaps this is why she has established a signature style which is, we have to agree, rather flattering on her.
Anyone who has observed Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's style even remotely would have taken note of that fact that she has quite a signature red carpet look. Princess gown, cinched at the waist and flowing outward below, red lips and the perfectly wavy, bouncy hair.
You're definitely going to have a hard time disagreeing with that - especially after you see the pictures below.
Only last night Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the Nykaa Femina Beauty Awards. As one would have expected, Aishwarya turned up in her go-to look. A princess gown, red lips and wavy hair.
Even though we are slightly tired of seeing the actress in the same cut and similar gowns over and over, one can't take away from Aishwarya that she carries herself with unparalleled elegance each time.
No matter what the event, Aishwarya and her stylists seem to think this is a look she can't go too wrong in. We have to agree. She's playing it safe by sticking to a silhouette one has seen on her so many times before and a look that has garnered her more appreciation than criticism - but for a star of her stature and position, perhaps there's really not much wrong with that.
Even when Aishwarya doesn't pair all her three style and beauty favourites together, she does make sure to at least add one of her favourite elements. Usually it's the princess gown.
For a brand event in Dubai last month, Aishwarya chose to wear a royal blue gown from international designer Mark Bumgarner. Needless to say, it was a princess gown. Even though she ditched the red lipstick for this one and went for more subtle, nude makeup, Aishwarya looked resplendent.
She also wore a gown from the same designer for an event in Cannes last year. Same silhouette, similar makeup, you get the drill.
It's not as though Aishwarya never experiments with some colours though. Sticking to the theme for the season (the colour yellow, if you're wondering), Aishwarya too kept it trendy when she stepped out in this yellow-gold Alexis Mabille belted gown. She kept her makeup toned down and kept her hair wavy. Two out of three on her list of red carpet 'must-dos'.
Amongst the many designers that Aishwarya loves and no doubt who love her back, she also seems to love Indian designers Gauri and Nainika. While the designer duo has many different cuts and silhouettes, trust Aishwarya to always pick the style that's similar in some way to her patent one.
For a brand event, Aishwarya picked a silk midi dress with hand embroidered 3-D flowers. She might have switched up the length and cut a bit, but the garment was cinched at the waist, with a fitted bodice and flowing skirt - just the way Aishwarya seems to like it.
Even for Aaradhya's 6th birthday party, the actress and former Miss World picked a gown from Gauri and Nainika. It might have been her daughter's birthday, but Aishwarya did not fail to have her princess moment too.
And who can ever forget Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's fully embroidered ice-blue ball gown by Michael Cinco from Cannes 2017? She really did steal the show with this one.
This wasn't the only moment when she blew the fashion world away. Aishwarya left everyone spellbound when she walked the red carpet at Cannes in a red gown from Ralph and Russo.
She even stuck to her signature look while shooting for a brand she was representing at Cannes. And while giving interviews.
Just in case you needed anymore proof, here are some more pictures.
There, that should be proof enough.
