Deepika Padukone's undisputed domination of the box office - "Padmaavat" just became her seventh 100 crore film - proves one thing: there's no place like home. So while we're happy to see her jet off across the world starring opposite Vin Diesel and appearing on American chat shows and going to the Met Gala, we're happiest when homegirl's here in India, wearing her heart on her sleeve in a series of stunning sarees.Deepika Padukone loves the saree; she has often admitted that it's her favourite garment. But off late, she's been rocking a collection of silks to rival Rekha's - in fact, one of the sarees she's been seen in lately was apparently a gift to her from Rekha. From weddings to award functions this season, Deepika Padukone has picked a silk saree eight times out of 10. If you look as good as Deepika in one, there's no reason not to.
Only last night Deepika Padukone, her mother Ujjala and sister Anisha accompanied dad Prakash Padukone to a ceremony in New Delhi where he received the Badminton Association of India's Lifetime Achievement Award. For the event, Deepika wore a pink Banarasi silk saree by designer Sabyasachi. She kept her hair, makeup and jewellery simple; smart decision we'd say, given that that resplendent saree really did deserve all the attention.

Last week Deepika made quite an appearance at the HT Style Awards. In a red carpet replete with designer gowns, Deepika stood out in her silk saree - this was the one reportedly gifted to her by Rekha. It was the same saree that Deepika had earlier worn for a friends wedding. Clearly this silk saree means something to her - we commented then on how unusual it was a for a star of her stature to be repeating outfits to an official event.
Through the promotions of her latest film "Padmaavat" Deepika wore some gorgeous silk sarees, often from fashion label Raw Mango by designer Sanjay Garg. Deepika's silk sarees from Raw Mango, with their stripes and floral patterns, definitely worked well for The Dimpled One.
Deepika had also worn a silk saree from Raw Mango back in October for Hema Malini's book launch.
And this stunning jade green silk sari by designer Sailesh Singhania for the Social Summit Awards, where she won the award for the most popular Indian actress on social media, back in November.
No matter who the designer, Deepika Padukone looks absolutely glorious in her silk sarees. We're super excited that they've made a place in her style files.
