Now definitely isn't the time to scamper around and stand in long queues at the grocery stories for your favourite beauty products. Instead, why not use it to make your own skin and haircare products yourself? After all, Shilpa Shetty and her son are doing it. Ever since the Coronavirus pandemic struck in the month of March 2020, this celebrity mom and her favourite companion have been keeping themselves busy in the most productive ways possible.

They embarked on a new adventure when Shilpa and Viaan whipped up what they call a 'Mojito salt scrub' or a 'lemon mint salt scrub'. Being a spa entrepreneur herself, when it comes to detoxifying the body and scrubbing away dead cells, we're taking Shilpa's word for it.

The recipe of Shilpa and Viaan's mojito salt scrub includes 1 cup of powdered rock or Epsom salt, quarter cup of almond or coconut oil, a handful of crushed mint leaves, a pinch of lemon zest and its juice. The duo carefully made the beauty potion and stored it away in an airtight container for their next spa day. Not only is the scrub beneficial in skincare, it's a fun project to busy children with when at home.

This is for all those bored children and Moms who need innovative ideas to keeps their kids occupied (I know that feeling) It works better when there is a creative and useful end result. Viaan wanted to try out a homemade ‘Mojito Salt Scrub', or as I prefer calling it, the ‘Lemon Mint Salt Scrub' It is as simple to make as the name suggests. All you need: • 1 cup of powdered rock/Epsom salt • 1/4cup of almond/coconut oil, • 5/8 crushed mint leaves, • 1/2 tsp of lemon zest, & • just a dash of lemon juice - and voila! Just remember to preserve it in an airtight container, away from any kind of moisture. This scrub can effectively help kids and grown ups relax, and drains out all kinds of negativity from the body when you soak your feet in water mixed with the scrub. Do try it out! . . . . . #DIY #SaltScrub #QuarantineTime #MotherSon #SwasthRahoMastRaho #StayHomeStaySafe

Through the course of the home quarantine, Shilpa has set all kinds of mom goals with her projects for her son. From practising their yoga poses and baking healthy goods to gardening and enjoying movie nights, it's been bonding time for the family.

They harvested organic brinjals and chillies from their green patch.

One of the greater joys of life is to see your efforts coming to fruition in this circle of life; whether it is about starting a new venture, seeing your child grow up or just the plants you nurture bearing vegetables and fruits for you to enjoy. Planted these seeds in pots a few months ago and was thrilled to see brinjals and chillies ready to be harvested As they say, what you sow, so you shall reap. Clean organic produce. Same with your thoughts actually, think clean and positive; and the fruits those thoughts manifest into will be beautiful. C'est la vie! Mother Nature never fails to amaze me. Today, I'm grateful for the fresh produce and for nature's many blessings... Oh also, the Baingan Ka Bharta we had for lunch was delicious ???? . . . . . #20DaysOfGratefulness #Day13 #stayhome #staysafe #stayindoors #gratitude #IndiaFightsCorona #MotherNature #throwback

They baked a chocolate heart-shaped cake together.

Spending time with Viaan usually entails a baking/cooking session once a week. He loves to experiment and whip up healthy, easy-to-make recipes in his free time. We use this heart-shaped mould to show it's made with love... This time around, we baked the gluten free “chocolate heart cake” with coconut sugar, celebrating this time together ???????? Bake the quarantine blues away. Every day well spent ????????❤️???? Since I have more time on hand, I found these pics from the past to show how time flies, but something's don't change. Take time out to show gratitude for the time we ‘have' on hand , and let's spend it with our kids with happiness in our hearts... K sera sera... whatever will be... Will be... . . . . . . #EveryDayIsSonDay #bakers #motherandson #famjam #qualitytime #SwasthRahoMastRaho #staysafe

They tie-dyed together.

"How do I keep my child occupied?!" is the million dollar question playing on every parent's mind right now????. This 'unplanned' break has to be endured, since it can't be cured. We try planning a few hours of interesting activities in a day for our kids, but what do you do when you hear, "Mommy, I'm bored!!" and you DON'T want to give them the iPad!????????‍♀ Take it from me, tearing your hair out isn't going to help as much as you'd think it would???????? You have to put on your thinking caps, aiming to make the most of this time together. So, you invent, innovate, and come up with something as it's a DO OR "DYE" situation.. that'll keep them busy and you happy????. Today's bonding session with Viaan happened with some tie-&-dye activity at home ❤????, with a special appearance by Simba!???? (Who nearly got her tail dyed????????) By the way, the t-shirts we're wearing were also made during one of our previous sessions. How are you keeping up with your kids' daily activities? Let me know and do share ideas with me. This was great fun. A must try. Things required: • A pair of gloves • White t-shirt • Permanent safe colour (dye) Method: 1. Twist and tie the t-shirts with rubber band at a 3-inch distance 2. Pour the colour, keep it in the sun for 12/20 hrs, and open???? #EveryDayIsSonDay #staysafe #stayhome #creativity #mommyandson #SwasthRahoMastRaho

Viaan even turned masseuse for mommy dearest when she needed to relax.

Had no idea my mom was shooting this... but she managed to capture such a priceless moment. Watching this video made me realise it's such a blessing to have kids and also have these important conversations with your child. Ha ha ha ????one who can be your friend too????! Today, I'm grateful for a child who is respectful to all, is sensible & understanding even at such a tender age. I enjoy all the banter with him and knowing his conversations can easily lift all our spirits is a lovely feeling. ????Also, saying a special prayer for all parents and children caught in these trying times. May we all come out of this stronger than before???????????? . . . . . #20DaysOfGratefulness #Day10 #stayhome #staysafe #stayindoors #gratitude #IndiaFightsCorona
