American singer and songwriter Dua Lipa's fashion choices make complete use of that room, especially for her performance in Greta Gerwig's Barbie. It seems to have worked well in her favour, as Dua Lipa danced the night away and woke up to having nominated for the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in the Best Original Song category for her hit number Dance The Night from the movie Barbie. For her first-ever Golden Globe nomination, the 28-year-old singer revealed the big news by posting a series of behind-the-scenes pictures of her cameo character Mermaid Barbie from the movie. What made their indelible mark on this momentous occasion were Dua's quirky wigs which were as colourful as they were voluminous.

In the opening frame, Dua Lipa can be seen embracing the Barbiecore trend like a pro. To ace the look, she picked a bubblegum pink-hued waist-length wavy wig that she carried in a side-parted look. The bright-toned wig went well with her fuchsia pink shimmery structured bralette with a matching sea shell attached in the centre. She paired it with a baby pink-hued mermaid fluke with a shimmery structure on the waist. She sealed her all-pink look with a matching stone-adorned bracelet, shimmery pink glam and matte nude lips.
Next up? Dua Lipa made sure that we didn't feel the blues, as she gave us an all-blue look. This time the singer picked a side parted, yes you guessed it, bubblegum blue wig, styled wavy at the ends. Her sizeable wig was paired with a sky-blue strapless bralette with a subtle ruffle neckline and matching mermaid fluke. She teamed it all with a matching pearl necklace and pearl ear hoops. Finishing touch: shimmery blue eyeshadow and matte brown lips.
We are talking about Barbie, so how can we not have shades of pink? Next, it was the turn for peachy coral. Barbie has always been about flawless hair and so this mermaid Barbie made sure to live every bit of that part. Dua Lipa wore a generous side parted wavy wig that wafted down to her waist. She completed her look with a shell-style strapless bralette with a matching mermaid fluke and pearl necklace.
Barbie hit the theatres this year on July 21, and the movie went on to give the fashion world countless trends not to mention record breaking box office numbers.
