Whether by your choice or not, the cast of the upcoming film The Archies have not gone unnoticed as they have been thrust into public consciousness. Through retro-themed songs and movie promotion styles, the star kids and new entrants are already garnering public opinion even before their big movie debut. Suhana Khan has stood out amongst them; not just for being the daughter of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan but also for her articulate poise throughout press appearances. While her style has been applauded thus far, now it's her thoughts on sustainability which are going viral for all the right reasons.

In an interview with NDTV, Suhana Khan was asked about her thoughts on protecting the environment, to which she focused on the role fashion plays in the eco-system of environmental consciousness and cited Alia Bhatt as an example. Suhana said, "Recently, Alia Bhatt wore her wedding saree again to receive her national award. As somebody with a platform who has an influence, I thought that was incredible with a much-needed message. She did that and she took a stand towards sustainability while advocating for that. If Alia Bhatt can re-wear her wedding saree then we can also repeat an outfit for a party, we don't need to buy a new outfit."

She continued, expanding her thoughts on the role of sustainability in fashion, saying, "We don't realise how much of waste is involved in making new garments. It really impacts our bio-diversity and environment, so it's very important."

Last month, Alia Bhatt left her mark her when she re-wore her ivory and gold Sabyasachi saree. Post her wedding in April 2022, she brought out the cherished garment once again to collect her National Award in October this year. While it's a novel concept for Indian fashionistas especially, across the world repeating outfits is a long-time loved celebrity style move. The likes of Cate Blanchett, Tiffany Haddish, Jane Fonda and Meghan Markle have all re-worn their red carpet ensembles more than once. However, it's Kate Middleton who is fondly celebrated as the queen of sustainable style as the British monarch is known to repeatedly re-wear her famous designer looks multiple times over.

It's a smart sustainable style move that has is now acceptable fashion behavior on Indian shores as well and we're better for it.
