It is well-established that Gaurav Gupta is the Hollywood darling of Indian designers in the West. From Cardi B to Nicki Minaj, when it's drama that they seek in their style quotient, it's this Indian fashion designer whom they head too. Indian-origin celebrities like Poorna Jagannathan and Mindy Kaling in particular are fond of his sculptural sartorial masterpieces. The comedy maven proved that once again when she picked yet another Gaurav Gupta ensemble to wear for the 2024 Emmys, which she termed as her "dream dress".

The 2024 Emmys were a fashion showcase with the likes of Sofia Vergara and Saoirse Ronan bringing their style A-game to the red carpet. However, it was Mindy Kaling who stole the show in a creation by the Indian designer. The star wore a black gown that was a far throw from the usual LBD. The ebony creation featured a sculptural off-shoulder detail that led to a dipped neckline. Adorning it was self-coloured beadwork from either arm, leading down the length along with pleats accompanying it. The bodycon silhouette highlighted her hourglass figure, allowing it to shine as an elegant red carpet statement.

Mindy chose diamond dangler earrings, bracelets and rings but skipped the necklace. Her raven hair was parted down the centre and worn straight and tucked behind her earrings. Makeup of a glossy brown lip with heavy bronzer added definition without taking away from the outfit.
