Filmfare Awards: It Was Hard Listing The Best-Dressed. See Who Made It
Madhuri Dixit and Neha Dhupia for Filmfare awards

Come award season, and even the stars who generally have to be coaxed out of their jeans and tees have their stylists pull out the fanciest of the fancy outfits. The Filmfare Awards are among the biggest of India's big ticket events, and while they might be short on credibility, the red carpet is usually high on glamour. For that reason alone, we love the fact that so many of our favourite stars marked their attendance at this year's Filmfare Awards. However, it was a surprisingly unstylish red carpet - few stars were able to inspire us with their choice of outfits and when it came to choosing the best-dressed from this year's Filmfare red carpet, the pickings were slim. Here is the very short list.

Neha Dhupia

Seems like Neha Dhupia pulled out her yellow just in time for Basant Panchami. The actress has been making plenty of appearances on TV off late, thanks to all the reality and talk shows she judges or hosts. While her style is usually laidback, favouring anti-fit silhouettes and a distinctly boho vibe, this look was way more polished than we've seen recently. For the Filmfare Awards, Neha was a ray of sunshine in a yellow Sandy Nour gown. She paired her flowing gown with vintage jewelry from Dior. Way to make a statement and stand out, Neha.

Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt has been busy attending her best friend's wedding after returning from Tel Aviv, where she had been prepping for new film Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor and director Ayan Mukherjee. In the midst of her busy schedule though, Alia made the time to attend the Filmfare Awards, walking the red carpet in a ruffled, lavender Monsoori gown. Seems like Alia has definitely had a few fashion princess moments of late, with all the fabulous gowns she's been seen wearing. Eva Longoria and Kelly Rowland are some of the other famous actresses that have walked red carpets in Monsoori creations.

Athiya Shetty

Athiya Shetty might not have made a mark through her movies yet but when it comes to fashion, she's a delight to look at. With her usually casual but chic style, Athiya functions high on the fashion radar. For the Filmfare Awards, she wore a mirror work gown with ruffled sleeves from Lebanese designer Tarek Sinno. She left her hair open in loose waves and finished her look with earrings from Hazoorilal.

Madhuri Dixit Nene

One doesn't usually find Madhuri Dixit on a best-dressed list, but with her look for the Filmfare awards 2018 she had us impressed. She wore a simple black gown, with a floral print and cold shoulders from Mark Baumgartner. She finished her look with a ponytail and earrings from Jaipur gems. We loved that Madhuri kept it so simple, even as far as her hair and makeup were concerned. She was styled by Ami Patel. We have to give a big thumbs up to them both for this look.

Evelyn Sharma

One doesn't get to see Evelyn Sharma too often; but in the midst of all the gowns from international designers, she managed to stand out and be seen in an Anju Modi creation. Evelyn wore a midnight blue anarkali suit with earrings from Minerali Store. She tied her hair up in a braided bun, sticking to her ethnic theme for the night. She was styled by Sukriti Grover.

Konkona Sen Sharma

Konkona Sen Sharma's outfit for the Filmfare Awards was fitting for someone who won Best Debut Director that evening. Konkona won the award for her film, A Death in the Gunj. Sressed in a black Anavila sari, Konkona looked every bit the poised director the world now knows her to be. She wore jewels from Amrapali to finish her look, proving that sometimes classic, simple dressing is the best way to go.

Diana Penty

This model-turned-actress has made a niche for herself in low-key films like Happy Bhag Jayegi and Lucknow Central. On the red carpet for the Filmfare Awards, though, Diana was a breath of fresh air. Amongst all the fashion faux pas we could see on that carpet, Diana stood out in her simple blush gown from Gaurav Gupta. She kept both her accessories and makeup, minimal.
