The Cannes Film Festival 2023 has turned out to be a largescale debut showcase for celebrities from around the world. After Mrunal Thakur and Dua Lipa made their big red carpet debuts at Cannes 2023, Gigi Hadid has also followed suit. The supermodel attended the movie premiere of Firebrand (Le Jeu De La Reine) while wearing a cappuccino-coloured structured Zac Posen gown on the red carpet. The strapless number, from his 2014 Paris Fashion Week collection, featured a structured peplum-esque waist leading to a slightly flared mermaid style.

Gigi wore Messika jewellery in the form of a petal-like diamond choker necklace and bracelet, multiple rings and earrings. With her blonde hair in big curls, Gigi's beach girl makeup look continued with neutral lips and bronzed skin. But there was more of a backstory to it rather than it just being a gorgeous red carpet outfit. Gigi's Cannes debut was inspired by none other than her sister Bella Hadid.

In 2018, Bella wore a Jean Paul Gaultier gown in a stunning shade of pink. It also came in a strapless style with a structured waist leading to a mermaid silhouette over the length. She wore it with her black locks in a sleek bun and dangling diamond earrings. Bella's Jean Paul gown belonged to the designer's fall winter 2006 couture collection, which Gigi's Zac Posen gown was inspired by. In this case of two stylishly dressed sisters, one can always look to the other for inspiration, even at Cannes.
