Nancy Tyagi's Self-Made Hooded Saree Brought Desi Magic To Cannes 2024

The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is raising the fashion bar higher with each passing day. Among all the big names from across the globe, Delhi-based fashion influencer Nancy Tyagi is taking over Cannes in style. She marked her glamorous red carpet debut wearing a self-made creation. After her voluminous red carpet gown, the influencer is now shining bright in a stunning shimmery style. For her second look, Nancy wore a shimmery lilac saree that she crafted with contemporary detailing. She shared a BTS video of everything that went behind the making of her glam saree. The video began with Nancy buying fabric for her outfit, followed by details of her stitching the ensemble. Nancy looked gorgeous in a lilac saree that was doused in sequins and came with an asymmetrical trail and over-the-top drape. She teamed this with a backless blouse tied with barely-there straps. The hooded pattern with a cowl neckline accentuated her overall style. Nancy picked a pair of massive hoops to keep it minimal yet classy. Talking about her creation, Nancy wrote, “My second outfit from the Cannes Film Festival, which I wore at a special event, is another creation made entirely by me. This ensemble is a saree featuring intricate hand embroidery. Every piece was meticulously crafted and assembled by me.”

Not just one, but Nancy served us with two ravishing outfits that were created by her. She self-stitched a blush pink ball gown for her debut look. The strapless number came with a figure-hugging bodice adorned with an overall sequin work. It extended downwards to form an over-the-top multi-layered ruffled ball gown-style hem, crafted with tulle fabric. In case you are wondering, this outfit weighed 20 kg and took “30 days and 1000 meters of fabric,” to be crafted. Talking about her Cannes debut and outfit, Nancy wrote, “Stepping onto the red carpet at the 77th Cannes Film Festival as a debutant feels surreal. I poured my heart and soul into creating this pink gown, which took 30 days, 1000 meters of fabric, and weighed over 20kg. The journey has been intense, but every moment was worth it. I'm overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for the love and support from all of you. This is a dream come true, and I hope my creation dazzles you as much as your support has inspired me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
