While women often nick their boyfriend's shirts or husband's chinos, it's a pleasant surprise to see a gender reversal of style choices. Of all locations, it took place at one of the most fashionable spots on earth i.e. at Paris Fashion Week. The Chanel Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023/24 show occured this week, which Kendrick Lamar attended. To attend as a guest of honour of Virginie Viard, who is Karl Lagerfeld's successor, the artist paid tribute with a top-to-toe Chanel ensemble. Lamar picked from Chanel 2022/23 Métiers d'art collection, most of which were also womenswear. He wore a monogram printed pair of flared pants and black cap with a monogram bandana. His accessories were most unique as the singer opted for a tweed jacket, dual-strand pearl necklace and sunglasses, all from Chanel. They were layered with his white t-shirt and black brogues.

While the pearl necklace has been frequently spotted as part of menswear accessories (just ask Harry Styles and Ranveer Singh if you don't believe us), Kendrick took it many steps further by wearing his with an elegant tweed layer and that summery monogram scarf too. With a single ensemble, the artist has joined the league of celebrities as a fashion-forward style star who is open to experimenting with gender-fluid couture.
