While award functions like the Grammys and Oscars dictate a certain dress code of elegance, the MET Gala allows for experimentation. Founded for the purpose of fundraising and heightening awareness about the art and cultural exhibits at its Museum, from its inception it has encouraged its guests to play dress up with the theme and showcase their experimental side. So in a sea of lace-up corsets, poufy hairstyles and ruffled silhouettes, there were some who stood out with their sartorial choices and made their way to the top of our best dressed list at the MET Gala 2022. Simone Ashley picked Moschino for the night and wore a sparkling cropped bustier with a flowing black satin skirt along with a jacket on top. She wore her hair slicked and paired it with a stone choker and earrings.
Natasha Poonawalla represented India on the red carpet in an embellished Sabyasachi saree with a gold Schiaparelli caged corset. The jewellery was stacked up with her headband, earrings and bangles for the opulent finish.

Jessica Chastain pushed the boundaries with her burgundy Gucci gown with the signature designer snake coiled around her in silver sparkle. She paired it with a head wrap in the same shade.
Kim Kardashian wore the very same Jean Louis dress that Marilyn Monroe wore in 1962 to sing "Happy Birthday, Mr. President" to John F. Kennedy for his 45th birthday. It was sleeveless and sheer, set with crystals.
Blake Lively chose Atelier Versace in a rose gold hued gown with a studded bustier on the red carpet. It transformed into shades of aqua with matching gloves to pay homage to the Statue Of Liberty.
Billie Eilish channeled the Gilded Age to the T in her silk Gucci gown. With a corset and pleated body in shades of cream and green, she looked straight out of a period movie.
Vanessa Hudgens went completely sheer with a black Moschino long sleeved gown that had strategically placed lace work over the bust. It featured full shoulders and a lace train which Vanessa paired with a high bun.
