From Madelyn Cline To Cardi B, Black Was The Chic Colour Of The Night At The 2021 AMAs

The 2021 American Music Awards took place last night and while musical talent was the highlight of the event, by no means did fashion get left behind. Performers from every sphere walked the AMA red carpet and you know what many of them had in common? A taste for the most classic colour choice. Of course we're talking about black. From Cardi B in a startling gold mask to Jojo Siwa in a tiered tulle magic, ebony tones took over and we couldn't be more glad. Here's a look at the best black dresses on the red carpet at the 2021 American Music Awards.

All eyes were on Madelyn Cline, who picked a halter dress with geometric shaped cutouts at the torso leading to solid coloured black length. She paired it with black gloves and pumps while her long blonde hair was in loose curls with brown toned makeup.

Cardi B was unrecognizable in a Schiaparelli gold face mask with matching talons. Her strapless black gown was met with gloves and a black veil. In case you were wondering, she did remove the mask later to reveal it really was her.

Jojo Siwa looked refreshing and perfectly appropriate for her age in a sheer tiered tulle dress with an off-shoulder neckline. Layered necklaces and a ear full of rings added fun to this one.

Lara McWhorter went the minimal chic route with a little black dress featuring a corset, which she paired with a silver clutch and black pumps.

Coi Leray wore a sequin dress with a single shoulder detail and fitted silhouette. Her hair was in a sleek ponytail with a thick fringe.
