From Rashmika To Shibani, Traditional Ethnic Style Reigns For Gudi Padwa

Gudi Padwa is a spring festival observed by the people of Maharashtra that marks the Marathi New Year. The day also coincides with the Telugu New Year of Ugadi. Enjoyed with fun and fervour, people who celebrate the occasion indulge in good food and dress up in their best traditional wear. Some of our favourite Bollywood and South Indian celebrities are no exception to the rule. Their social media handles were brimming with exquisite celebrations but the noteworthy elements were their ethnic looks for the vibrant festival.

Shibani Dandekar

Farhan Akhtar's wife has confessed she is “just a Marathi mulgi at heart”. Wishing her followers a happy Gudi Padwa, Shibani showcased her elegant saree-clad avatar. She was dressed in a dark purple saree, lined with bright red borders and heavy golden embroidery all over. She coupled it with an equally ornate vivid green blouse.

Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha Kapoor's Gudi Padwa celebration was a minimalist, family-oriented affair. Her OOTD? A red floral kurta, laced with intricate floral embroidery around the neckline, sleeves, and bodice. Matching pants, paired with a dupatta rounded off her simple look.

Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri Dixit painted a picture of grace in a six-yard drape for Gudi Padwa. The dark green hue of the saree added dimension to her look. The orange borders offered a colour blocked element while golden embroidery on the bodice delivered an extra dose of pizzazz.
