If you thought your New Year resolutions were the only changes expected this month, you're about to be proven wrong. Prepare to do over because beauty brands too have taken the cue of January being the month of change and three of the world's biggest conglomerates (yes, three - count them: L'Oreal, Kerastase and Revlon) have already announced the launch of new ambassadors in just the first two weeks of 2018. And what ambassadors they are - Gal Gadot. Winona Ryder. Emily Ratajkowski. Enough said.
Winona Ryder for L'Oreal Paris Elvive
During the telecast of the Golden Globes, Winona Ryder was announced as the new ambassador for L'Oreal Paris's Elvive range for damaged hair. The dramatic commercial was good enough to be a short film and showed a starlet flitting through her dressing room until she's called in front of an audience where Winona's face is revealed with the line, "Everyone loves a comeback, damaged hair deserves one too."
Winona Ryder has had an exemplary acting career which saw a dip in the late 2000s. Although she did continue to act, it was her role as the anxious Joyce Byers in new favourite Netflix show Stranger Things that really brought her back into the spotlight. While the ad received mixed responses, it gave us the good kind of goosebumps because we certainly love a comeback like this one.
L'Oreal Professional UK has also announced Alexa Chung, fashion's It Girl, as their new face for their Parisian Nudes hair colour line and Pro-Fiber hair repair range.
Gal Gadot for Revlon
Revlon just upped their game by getting on board none other than Wonder Woman herself - Gal Gadot is their new global ambassador. The much-loved Israeli actress will help launch Revlon's Live Boldly campaign so we're keeping our eyes peeled for that. Besides starring in a campaign for Gucci fragrances previously, this is Gal's first big beauty outing.
Emily Ratajkowski for Kerastase
Emily is most well-known for her risqué Instagram images along with being an actress and activist. Along with that, she's also the new face of Kerastase, which was announced with a signature Emrata topless black and white shot with bouncy, tousled waves. Her initial announcement caption included the sentence, "Hair is a fundamental part of beauty, identity and identity" but received flak for its shallow tone and insensitivity towards women with hair loss issues. This brought about an immediate change to a more generalized, happy caption from Emily.
Now on a scale of 1 - 10, how excited are you about these new beauty ambassadors? Tell us in the comments.
