The expert for all the colour-related trends, Pantone, has announced that Ultra Violet is 2018's colour of the year. Inventive and imaginative, Ultra Violet lights the way to what is yet to come. Following the freshness of Greenery in 2017, Ultra Violet's edginess has already become a big hit on runways everywhere. Gucci had a sweeping 108 garments all of this colour. Mixing shades of blue and red (absolute opposites) to create something entirely new, Pantone stated, "Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own."
It started as a tribute to Prince (it's impossible to think of him and not think of purple at the same time) and has also has already been incorporated by Gucci in their Spring/Summer'18 collection. The rich purple hue is one colour that can add a lot of drama to your ensemble. The purple colour is associated not only with royalty, but has the energy to calm nerves too.
