Different colours for the lehenga

Gone are the times when red was the only colour to consider for a wedding lehenga. Many designers have come up with a range of colours to choose from - hues of blue, pastels, and even shades of maroon and brown. It is a great time to get experimental with your lehengas, brides-to-be.

The decor is in the details

The idea of the 'Big Fat Indian Wedding' remains, but it is time to be a little more subtle. When thinking about things like decor and the wedding card, it is a good idea to consider a theme and pay attention to details. Use flowers in new ways, colourful Rajasthani umbrellas to make a photo booth, and think of setting up food trucks for different cuisines. Keep it simple, pretty and innovative. Break the rules

Jazz up your outfit with statement jewellery, bold motifs, fusion looks, and quirky accessories. Not just the brides, but the groom and the guests can be creative. Men, follow in the steps of Ranbir Kapoor and get mehendi  applied on your hands. Brides can take a leaf out of Sonam Kapoor's wedding and pair a traditional outfit with sneakers (makes the running around easier). Oh, and totally go for a statement entry. Why should the groom get a baarat and the bride the same old mellow song?

Wedding video? Yes!

Pre-wedding photo shoots are boring (and have a tendency to get very funny). Wedding videos became a trend a few years back and stayed on. So getting a montage of beautiful messages from friends and family, fun video shots from the wedding and all the shenanigans make for a fun memory.

Small intimate functions

Intimate settings, private functions, and a limited guest list are all trends to remember for the season, especially if you want to keep things easy. This way the bride and groom actually get a chance to enjoy and spend time with their loved ones.
