Aerial yoga has become a popular workout exercise over the last few years. This yoga trend artistically combines the philosophy of the practice with a series of poses (asanas) fused with dance movements while being suspended in the air. Silk fabrics or ropes are hung from above to support practitioners to form various shapes or poses in the air. You can either get fully supported by the silks — or wrap the cloth around particular body parts, keeping the remaining body on the floor. Hanging fully or suspending individual body parts is believed to create traction and open the body gently and intuitively. It is no surprise that this became an obvious hit among our favourite celebrities. On International Yoga Day 2023, there was no chance we could have missed this version of yoga for you to draw inspiration from.
Hina Khan wished fans International Yoga Day with a bunch of pictures of herself hanging in the air, being suspended from silk cloth. According to the actress, it is the “best therapy to a happy soul, fresh positive mind and a healthy body.” It is without a doubt that she proves it to us with her latest post.
“When in doubt… stretch it out” just like Karisma Kapoor.
After the birth of her baby girl Raha, Alia Bhatt turned to Aerial yoga to shed some extra kilos. One and a half months postpartum, she was seen nailing upside down posture in Aerial yoga. The actress had shared how she was “gradually re-building” her connection with her core.
Not just Alia Bhatt but fashion designer Masaba Gupta also nailed the upside-down aerial pose with utmost perfection.
