Tips To Remember While Applying A Mascara

Before jumping onto the procedure, let's start with the basics:

1. Choose carefully

Take your time and make an appropriate choice in purchasing mascara. Before arriving at a decision, take some time to determine the purpose of the mascara. They have distinguished features according to the need of the lashes. For short eyelashes, choose lengthening mascara enriched with essential oils and for scant lashes, pick a volume mascara to make them thick and bulky.

You can make a choice between water-proof and normal mascara. The use of water-resistant mascara on a daily basis can harm your lashes even though it does not smudge and last long. It is difficult to remove without the help of a makeup remover. Also, overusing it may result in weak, dry and brittle lashes. In case you sweat a lot and have a fear of smudging, you can use the waterproof variant. Otherwise, they should be utilised during special occasions and pool parties.

2. Eye curler

It is necessary to buy an eye curler in case you want a perfect finish. The eye curler adds an extra edge to your eyelashes, lifting them upwards to make them look longer. An eyelash curler can make a real difference. Always purchase a curler with a soft rubber pad that would not harm your lashes.

3. Colour choices

A wide range of colours are available in mascaras. Usually we buy either black or brown mascara. But exploring different shades can be really fun. You can pair your mascara according to different occasions - from bold to soothing hues. Every colour has its own definition of style.

A Guide On How To Apply Mascara

Here's a guide on how to apply mascara:

Step 1: You can wear your eye makeup before applying the mascara. Make sure to use a neutral eye shadow palette for the same.

Step 2: Use the eye curler to curl your lashes. Place your curler beneath your eyelashes and gently press it against them for 10 to 15 seconds. Repeat this step for more dramatic, long eyelashes.

Step 3: Having already bought the right shade of mascara with its definite purpose, unseal it. Ensure you pull out the mascara wand by twisting it rather than pumping it up and down to avoid getting the air into the tube that dries the mascara. Wipe the extra mascara from the wand. This ensures clump free lashes without putting in much effort.

Step 4: Lift your eyes partially upwards so that you can still watch yourself in a mirror and bring the wand closer to your eyelash. If your eye flutters, you should open your mouth, which makes blinking difficult.

Step 5: Now, apply the mascara, placing the wand against the roots of your lashes which makes them look fuller and long. Pull out the wand slowly towards the tips without a wiggling movement and with one stroke.

Step 6: For more impressive lashes, wait for your mascara to dry for 15-30 seconds then again curl your lashes.

Step 7: Apply a second coat of mascara for thick and long lashes. Move your wand back and forth to avoid unevenness and clumping. Don't neglect any part of your lashes.

Step 8: To apply mascara on your lower lashes, keep a makeup sponge under your eyes to avoid smudging. Open your eyes and apply mascara only on the roots of your lashes by using the brush and for a finishing touch, apply the mascara over the leftover lower lashes with the tip of the wand.

Always make sure to de-clump your lashes using a clean wand, brush or a tissue. Apply mascara on the inner and outer surface of your lashes. Use a moisturised cotton swab to undo any mistakes. For voluminous lashes, dust them with baby powder and put a coat of mascara over it. With these simple steps unravel the gorgeous you.
