1. Draw Up A Family Contract
"Sit down together and draw up a family contract. What do we think are going to be the major challenges we're going to face, what are the roles we expect people to play, what are the strengths each family member brings and set a goal," says Professor Waters.
2. Stick To Your Routine
"I know our routines are very disrupted right now but stick to yours as much as you can. Routines give us a sense of safety and predictability. They help with anxiety and help get things done," she affirms.
3. Create Zones In Your Home
"If you are working from home because of family lockdown or social distancing, create a work station. This is where we do our work, this where we play, this is an area to use devices, this is a chill out in the house. It's a small and easy thing to do and reduces cabin fever because there are different areas of the house we go to for different functions," she says, signing off.
