1. Cleaning The Insides
You can take 1 cup water and lemon in a microwave-safe bowl and mix. Or if you have white or apple cider vinegar, take a few tablespoons and 1 cup water in a microwave-safe bowl. Place it inside the microwave and turn it on high power until you see the mixture boiling and the window steams up. Let cool for some time before opening the door, then take out the bowl and wipe the inside with a sponge.
2. Cleaning Greasy Doors
If you're cleaning your microwave, you cannot leave its door, of course. Greasy exterior needs to be cleaned as well. Clean the entire door - its edges and both sides with a sponge dampened with a mixture containing water and a little baking soda. Rinse the exterior with a damp cloth or sponge. You can try vinegar and water too.
3. Cleaning Stuck Food
If food's stuck to the turntable, you can clean it by making a paste with baking soda and water. Apply it to the hardened food and let it sit for about 5 minutes. Wipe up the baking soda mixture with a wet sponge or cloth and remove any leftover residue with a paper towel.
4. Getting Rid Of Burnt Smell
This can happen from flare-ups or flaming. Hence, make a point to clean your microwave regularly. If possible, avoid heavy build-up of grease in the oven. Try placing two cups of water in a microwave-safe container, along with vanilla extract, lemon juice or teabags. Heat on high until the water comes to a boil, and then let it stand for 10 to 30 minutes without opening the door.
5. Special Cleaning Method
This special method involves steam power for hygienic cleaning. That can be done by pouring a pool of water on the flat base of the microwave and setting it on to work for 3 minutes and then allowing it stand for another 10 minutes.
