Most women flaunt the glow on their face along with their baby bump. Unfortunately, I did not get so lucky. My skin texture deteriorated as months passed by during my pregnancy. I had pigmentation around my neck, and dark patches on my face, stretch marks on my tummy and dark armpits. My skin became dull and dry and would breakout easily. Being a skincare fanatic, I tried many products to control these problems, but nature had its own will. My hormones wanted it otherwise.
Post-delivery, now that all my hormones were getting back to how they were. This was the right time to pamper my skin and achieve that flawless glow.
How To Get Back The Radiant Skin After Pregnancy
Here are some pearls of wisdom which helped me get back that radiant glow on my face.
1. Don't Panic
Most things that change about the skin and hair during pregnancy or postpartum are temporary and will bounce back to normal in due course of time. Just keep working towards good health.

2. Invest In Some Me Time
The oxytocin makes us forget ourselves and shower all our love, time and energy on our little baby. Absolutely nothing wrong with that! But there is nothing wrong with taking some time off for yourself too. With some practice and time management, you can manage all that you love to do and be good at all of it too.
Dress up. Doll up. Wear that favourite outfit. Doesn't fit? Doesn't matter. Go and get another favourite outfit. Pamper and Love yourself. You are a mommy, you deserve all the love too!
3. Hydrate, Hydrate And Hydrate!
Drinking plenty of water, fluids, juices and shakes will do magic to your body. This won't just improve your skin but has a lot of other benefits too. It prevents your body from getting dehydrated while you breastfeed your baby. It prevents a host of other infections, besides making up for your sleeplessness a bit.

4. Go Natural
Breast milk is a magic potion. It works wonders for your skin too. So, express some milk either manually or with a pump and freeze it in the ice cubes tray. Rub the milk cubes on your face. It made my skin supple and baby soft.
Borrow some milk powder from your baby. Add honey and a pinch of cinnamon powder to it. Add rose water to make a smoother paste. Apply it all over your face and neck. Wash it off after 10 minutes and experience the difference on your face that very moment.
Use a mixture of powdered oats and honey for exfoliating your skin at least once a week.
5. Cleanse, Tone, Moisturise and Protect
Religiously follow the golden rule of cleansing, toning and moisturising your face. Wear a sun protective cream even if you are indoors. You can use apple cider vinegar, mixed with water in a ratio of 1:1, as a natural toner for your face. Invest in a good moisturiser that suits your skin type.
5. Exercise Is A Must
One of the reasons for pigmentation is weight gain. Speak to your doctor about when and what kind of exercises can you do post-delivery. With exclusively breastfeeding my baby, small walks and baby wearing, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within two and a half months post childbirth.
6. Eat Right
Make sure what you eat is healthy and full of antioxidants. Include a lot of fresh fruits and veggies in your diet. Ditch that extra spoon of ghee in your meal. Don't starve, eat to your heart's content, but eat right. Add vegetable and fruit juices, coconut water, nuts and energy giving foods to your diet.
7. Don't Forget Your Supplements
There is a reason why your doctor prescribed the calcium and vitamin supplements. Your body needs those to recover. The will also help your skin get back its sheen.

Haircare After Pregnancy
Most of us are haunted with hair fall delivery. The rising level of hormones had reduced the hair fall during pregnancy. But now as the hormones get back to normal, our usual hair fall cycle resumes too. The hair fall may appear excessive but is normal. You are not going bald for sure!
It's just a matter of time though, but doesn't harm to care for hair as well:
Keep your scalp and head clean.
Wash your hair with an anti-hairfall shampoo atleast twice a week.
Avoid chemical treatments like colouring, perming, straightening and others for a while.
Ask your doctor to prescribe vitamin supplements to reduce hairfall.
Do not stress about your hair falling, it might just make them fall even more
