Facial hair might not be fatal, but it can surely take a toll on your confidence. On normal days, you would have gone to a salon to get rid of it and stay groomed. But due to the Covid-19 lockdown, we are all now stuck at home and left to take care of these beauty basics on our own - from hair trimming to removing unwanted facial hair. Stressed? Don't be. There are simple and easy ways through which you can remove facial hair and stay groomed.
What Are The Types Of Facial Hair?
There are two types of facial hair:
1. Coarse Hair
This kind of hair just can't be treated through remedies. Rather, there's only one way to remove this which is through laser treatment. The sole reason behind it is due to the hair's roughness, brittleness and dryness.
2. Vellus Hair
This type of facial hair can easily be treated with home remedies because the quality of hair is thin and smooth.

Home Remedies To Tackle Facial Hair
1. Papaya and Turmeric
The combination of papaya and turmeric is amongst the most recommended mixture that can be applied for removing facial hair. Take one papaya, make a paste of that, and add some turmeric into it. Apply the paste on your face where the unwanted hair around 15-20minutes. After this wash your face with warm water slightly.
2. Honey and Sugar
Honey and sugar are another great mixtures that works great as an alternative for professional creams to eliminate facial hair. All you're supposed to do is make a paste of honey and sugar, apply the paste to the parts of your face with unwanted hair. Place a strip of cloth over the applied mixture and let it cool for a couple of seconds. Pull the strip in the opposite direction in which your hair is growing.
3. Oatmeal and Banana
Oatmeal and banana make a great combination. In fact, it is the most hydrating scrub and is loaded with antioxidants that help to remove redness from your skin. Apart from removing your facial hair, this paste will also give you a glowing skin.
Blend two tablespoons of oatmeal with a ripe banana, and apply this paste on the affected areas. Massage it for 15 minutes, and wash it off with cool water.

4. Potato and Lentil
The mixture of potato and lentil is yet again a widely used home-based ingredient used to remove unwanted hair, especially the facial hair. In order to prepare the mixture, you have to mix a tablespoon of honey, lemon juice each with five tablespoons of potato juice. Meanwhile, grind the lentils (soaked overnight) to a smooth paste. Add all the ingredients and apply the mixture for about 20 minutes on the affected area. Wash it off once it is completely dry.
This paste makes a thin crust that helps in hair removal. Plus, potato helps in bleaching the hair, making them less visible.
5. Lemon and Honey
The mixture of lemon and honey is perhaps the best home-based alternative for waxing. Start with mixing two tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice, and one tablespoon of honey. Heat the mixture for about three minutes and add water to make the mixture thinner, if required. Once the paste cools down, apply cornstarch on the affected areas and spread the paste in the direction of hair growth. Next, use a waxing strip or a cotton cloth, and pull the hair out in the opposite direction of growth.
Honey helps in moisturising the skin, and hence this method is highly recommended if you have dry skin.
6. Egg White and Cornstarch
Combining egg white and cornstarch can prove to be very effective, especially for eradicating the facial hair. Mix a tablespoon each of cornstarch and sugar with egg white. Apply this mixture on the areas where you have unwanted hair and peel it off once it is dry.
Egg white is sticky and forms a thin film on the skin when combined with sugar and cornstarch. This method is not suitable for acne-prone skin as egg white contains Vitamin A which may lead to breakouts.
7. Lavender Oil and Tea Tree Oil
Restrict the growth of unwanted hair on your face by simply applying the mixture of lavender and tea tree oil. Take one spoon of lavender oil and add 5-6 drops of tea tree oil mix it well and apply it on your face, at least twice a day. It helps to reduce the unwanted hair growth and the continuation process removes the hair too.
