Don't get us wrong - we love our eyeliner, we really do. But when you swipe on the same wing day in and day out, it can get monotonous. To work, to dinner, to parties - it's gone from being our signature style to being the same damn look we always wear. Finally, there's a way to turn it up without taking it too far. Dot eyeliner started as an Avant Garde runway trend and slowly trickled down to celebrities and beauty enthusiasts. So give your daily eyeliner a quick upgrade by trying it out in 2 ways.
The dotted underline
Step 1 - Start by drawing your winged liner on your eyelid as usual. Apply liner along the upper lash line and at the end, draw a triangle that points to the brow and join it to the base line.
Step 2 - Take a felt tipped liner and on the lower lash line, draw dots which are the size of a pin head at regular intervals.
Step 3 - Start from the inner corner and work your way to the outer corner of your eye. Continue till the lower lash line is covered with dots.
The singular dot
Step 1 - Draw your eyeliner as you usually would. When you come to the outer end of the eye, extend it slightly so that it's perpendicular to your eyebrow. Then join it to the main base liner and fill it in.
Step 2 - Use your pupil to calculate where the centre of your lash line lies. Right under the middle of the lower lash line, use a felt tipped eyeliner to draw a dot. Make it slightly larger in size than a pinhead to make it visible. If you're feeling experimental, draw the dot in with a blue or green coloured eyeliner.
Now that's a look to break your everyday winged-eyeliner routine with!
