Family vacations and solo exploratory trips already get their fair share of the travel limelight. Travelling for work sadly, simply doesn't. Work trips have been painted as tiring, uninspiring experiences that are more pleasant when completed. Located in the heart of the historic Maharashtrian city, the Hyatt Place Aurangabad Airport is a brand new property from the global chain that opened in August 2024. While Mumbai is definitely the most renowned city for business in Maharashtra and in India too, Aurangabad is making leaps and bounds. Aurangabad airport is central to the eight districts that it surrounds, making it the hub that connects business travellers. Teeming with manufacturing plants and real estate projects that fortify its work culture, the city also sees its own brand of tourism dedicated to the Buddhist landmarks and architectural marvels; two of which are UNESCO world heritage sites. The Hyatt Place has a prime location merely minutes from the airport, thus ensuring that business travellers will waste no time on commuting back and forth. Leisure travellers can plan day trips to visit key attractions such as the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Ajanta and Ellora Caves, as it's only a couple of hours to access the region's rich cultural history. Together with its modern amenities and comfortable accommodations, the Hyatt Place thus caters to both, business and leisure travelers.
Enter the open-floor plan hotel from the circular lobby and you'll be greeted by a larger-than-life black wall decor piece with Buddha-themed designs that emulate the intricate rock carving of the caves. While this interior piece is the largest across the property, the hotel pays homage to its rich history in more ways than one. The rooms are accented with kite-shaped wall art made of Paithani fabric; whose origins state that it was first woven by hand in its district of the same name. There's also a corner in its restaurant where wrought iron is designed and named as per the gates located here. Considering that it is also known as the 'City of Gates' with 52 gates dating back to the Mughal era, there are quite a few as part of this showpiece.
The lobby opens up to The Market, which provides grab-and-go meals for guests on the move. One can enjoy freshly brewed coffee, snacks, and light meals at any time of day in the seating area or get a to-go back to carry with you for the day. Zing is the property's singular restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The airy eatery is surrounded by foliage and has full-length windows that lets the sunlight pour inside. It also has patio seating with umbrellas to dine in the outdoor area. At Zing, breakfast is the busiest meal of the day. Though variety is compact, it features the favourites of cornflakes and pastries, cuts of meat, a live egg station and Indian staples like medu vada, idli and sambhar. At lunch and dinner, cuisines on offer are Asian favourites, a smattering of Italian dishes and Indian fare, mainly that which is popular in the region. A full-fledged pizza oven takes a place of pride in the kitchen, for the wood-fired delights to be dished out during dinner service. That's also when a live chaat counter opens for service; doling out the best dahi papdi and ragda pattices I've eaten in a long time. Dessert at Zing is a multi-cuisine affair with mithai and pastries taking equal precedence, along with an ice-cream freezer that's a constant companion at every meal.
The Zing Bar, tucked adjacent to the restaurant, is ideal for a quiet drink with your companion. Grab your cocktail and head to the open air seating beside it to enjoy the cool night air as you take a sip. Additional amenities at the Hyatt Place include a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center with cutting-edge gym equipment on display and a rooftop swimming pool.
The hotel boasts of well-designed rooms that feature modern conveniences like a plush seating area and a compact workspace in the corner. High-speed internet, 24-hour room service and flat-screen TVs with a long list of available TV channels in multiple languages make it an ideal choice for travelers who want to make a quick pit-stop in the room between tasks or hole up in bed for the whole day. While compact rooms are ideal for a duo, the suites offer a wraparound balcony, living area and bathtubs. Environmental-consciousness is key for the Hyatt Place as they've made thoughtful moves to reduce their carbon footprint. Inside the room, it is through refillable toiletries and glass bottles. Outside, it is through a glass bottling plant, food recycling facility and solar panels on the property.
For business travelers, the hotel offers flexible meeting and event spaces, complete with state-of-the-art technology and catering options. A fully-equipped boardroom with seating and a screen is the top choice to do business at. And when it comes to let loose, the party areas throughout the hotel can do that just as easily. The ballroom accommodates 500 people for indoor events and for larger functions, the lawn and its dining area can host up to 2000 people. It's already a thriving spot for functions, with both party areas being host to multiple events at day and night.
With its combination of modern luxury, convenience, and proximity to cultural landmarks, Hyatt Place Aurangabad Airport is an excellent choice for both business and leisure visits to this historical region.
