Margot Robbie is every bit our favourite doll

During the global press tour of her upcoming film BarbieMargot Robbie has taken promotional style to a brand new level with Barbie-inspired looks from the fashion archives. Her wardrobe includes references to everything, from outfits worn by different dolls to runway looks inspired by the famous brand. For a photo call at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, Robbie looked stunning in a black and white striped mini dress. Designed by Hervé Léger, the strapless number came with a stylish cutout neckline and a figure-hugging silhouette. A pair of thick frame white sunglasses and minimalistic hoops for accessories perfectly complemented her style. The glam picks included a glowy skin, tinted cheeks and coral hue lips. A barbie-like tied up hairdo rounded off her look. Notably, Margot Robbie's black and white fit resembled that of the first Barbie doll, which was released in 1959.

That famous doll wore a striped black and white swimsuit with white sunglasses. Accompanying it were white-framed sunglasses with a red lip and black slider heels. The 1959 Barbie's blonde hair was worn in a ponytail with a curly fringe, a recreation of which is also seen in the Barbie movie trailer.

Earlier this week, when Margot Robbie landed in Sydney, she gave us lessons on nailing an airport look. The actress donned an archive Chanel Spring Summer 1996 look that consisted of a white tube top and jeans, paired with a tweed pink blazer. The Chanel ambassador finished off her look with accessories by the Parisian house: a quilted leather handbag, a belt with Chanel logo embroidered in the centre, and a pair of dual-tone slingbacks. Not to miss the mattel pink vintage-inspired luggage and carry-on bag, fit for a Barbie indeed.

So far, Margot Robbie has stayed true to the Barbiecore trend. At the press junket for Barbie in California's Beverly Hills, Robbie arrived in a pink polka dot halter dress from the luxury brand Valentino. The chic number came with a risque cutout around the bust and a stunning backless detailing. A yellow Valentino Garavani Rockstud shoulder bag and white Manolo Blahnik heels completed her OOTD. Robbie's custom Valentino dress is a remake of a midi Karen Mulder; who was dubbed as the real-life Barbie, wore on the brand's spring 1993 runway.

Directed by Greta Gerwig, Barbie movie also stars Ryan Gosling as Ken. The film is slated to release on June 21.
