If Tejasswi Prakash's travel diaries have inspired you to embark on a trip to the Muir Woods National Monument, then here are a few pointers that you must remember.

More About The Place

This destination is especially popular due to its coastal redwood trees found aplenty. Some of them even date back to up to 1000 years. The Muir Woods is often covered with a sheath of fog all seasons, adding to a mysterious ambiance. In a way, the thick cloud of fog helps the age-old trees to survive during the harsh summer months.

Adventure-seekers would be happy to know that Muir Woods houses a range of hiking trails that would allow you to be at one with nature. Some of the popular trails include the Fern Creek, Lost, and Canopy Trail Loop, Fern Creek and Hillside Loop, Bootjack Loop, and Dipsea Trail from Mill Valley Trailhead.

Animals found

Some of the wild animals that you may encounter here include white-tailed deer, gray foxes, bobcats, otters, spotted owls, salmon, and a variety of other floral and fauna.

Best Time To Visit

The Muir Woods National Monument is open 365 a year, making it suitable for tourists to visit anytime. However, in case there is an emergency like unpredictable weather, power outage, or poor air quality, the authorities can close the establishment temporarily.
